A STARSEED WITHOUT THE SPIRITUAL FACADE
There are many ideas attached to Starseeds about what a spiritually aware person is supposed to be like. They are expected to be calm, understanding, loving and constantly in balance with themselves and the world around them. Spirituality can easily begin to look like a certain kind of lifestyle with the right words, the right thoughts and the right outward signs. At the same time, it is forgotten that a person’s inner world cannot be defined by their outward appearance.
Spirituality becomes a facade when a person begins maintaining an image of themselves instead of living according to their actual experience. They speak about love while carrying unresolved bitterness within. They emphasize acceptance while judging those who think differently. They speak about higher consciousness and vibrations while measuring the spiritual development of others according to their own beliefs. At that point, outward spirituality no longer reflects what is truly happening inside.
A Starseed does not need to be gentle, smiling or positive all the time. They are allowed to feel anger, disappointment, sadness and frustration. They are allowed to disagree, set boundaries and say directly what they think. Experiencing difficult emotions does not make a person less conscious, and hiding them does not make anyone more spiritually evolved. True self awareness also requires recognizing the parts of yourself that are not as easy to show to others.
Outward things do not define a Starseed either. A person does not need to dress in a certain way, use spiritual language, meditate every day or belong to any particular community. They are allowed to enjoy ordinary life, humor, music, work and everyday things without searching for a deeper spiritual meaning in everything. Spirituality is not a separate role that you put on when meeting other people.
The spiritual facade becomes especially contradictory when there is a great deal of talk about love and acceptance, but very little ability to show them in practice. A person’s true attitude toward others is revealed in how they treat those from whom they have nothing to gain, how they respond to differences and how they act when no one is watching.
A Starseed does not need to create an image of themselves that matches other people’s expectations of a spiritual person. They do not need to convince anyone of their awareness, sensitivity or inner experiences. The depth of spirituality is not measured by how beautifully someone speaks about light, but by how they treat others even when their own life is at its darkest. In the end, the most revealing question is not how spiritual you consider yourself to be, but what kind of person you are when all the labels, roles and facades connected to spirituality are stripped away.
