WHEN IT IS TIME TO CHOOSE YOURSELF IN LOVE
It is easy for a starseed to give a great deal in love. They understand, compromise, wait and try to see beyond the other person’s behavior. They feel deeply and hold on for a long time to the hope that the connection will find its way back into balance. But there comes a moment when another question rises beside love. “Where am I in all of this?”
Choosing yourself begins when a Starseed stops dismissing their own feelings simply because they want to keep the connection alive. They no longer endlessly explain to themselves why the other person behaves the way they do. They also begin to look at what the relationship is doing to their own peace, strength, and inner balance. Love does not mean that you have to endure everything.
It does not mean moving your own boundaries further and further away just to give the other person more space. It does not mean waiting endlessly or putting your own life on hold around someone else’s decisions. It is important for a Starseed to understand that choosing yourself is not the opposite of love. It is one of the deepest forms of love.
When a starseed chooses themselves, they do not stop caring. They stop abandoning themselves in order to hold on to something that is taking them further and further away from their own center. Their attention then turns back toward their own life. What do I need in order to feel well? Where do I feel peace? Where am I free to be myself without constantly being on guard? Where does love meet me without requiring me to make myself smaller? Answering these questions changes a great deal.
A starseed begins to understand that their worth does not depend on who stays and who leaves. They do not have to earn love by being more understanding, more patient, or quieter than their own heart can bear. They are allowed to choose themselves even when they love, even when the other person does not understand, and even when the choice hurts. Because sometimes the greatest act of love is not staying. It is finally stopping the habit of walking away from yourself.
